Our commitment to exceptional puppies

At Thunderbird Springers, we believe in transparency and passion. This overview details our comprehensive breeding program, designed to produce healthy, well-adjusted English Springer Spaniels that will thrive as beloved family members. We invite you to understand the intentional care and dedication behind every puppy.

Our background & philosophy

With many years of experience breeding and working with German Shepherd Dogs, I developed a strong foundation in temperament, structure, and trainability. As our family’s needs evolved, I began searching for a breed that maintained intelligence and eagerness to please, while also being exceptionally family-friendly and versatile. That search led me to English Springer Spaniels, and I quickly fell in love with the breed.

English Springer Spaniels offer the ideal balance of intelligence, trainability, affection, and adaptability. They excel as family companions while also possessing the drive and stability needed for advanced training pursuits.

Health care & veterinary protocols

Health care is managed with careful attention to prevention and early intervention. Both the dam and puppies are dewormed bi-weekly at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age. We have implemented neopar into our protocol to provide an additional layer of protection to each puppy. This is administered at 6 weeks of age. At 8 weeks, each puppy receives a comprehensive physical examination by a licensed veterinarian, their first round of core puppy vaccinations, a fecal test, and abdominal palpation and full health evaluation. After the vet visit when the puppy is deemed healthy, a health certificate is issued and the puppy is cleared to go to their new home.

Identification & lifetime security

All puppies are microchipped with fi nano microchips, which include a lifetime membership with no annual fees. This provides permanent identification and added peace of mind for families.

Temperament, genetics & long-term health

Temperament and health are the highest priorities in our breeding program. All breeding dogs are temperament tested multiple times before being considered for our program. Our dogs consistently demonstrate stable temperaments, high trainability, and a strong desire to please. All breeding dogs undergo comprehensive genetic testing, and pairings are carefully planned to ensure puppies are clear of all testable genetic conditions. Every puppy leaves our program backed by a two-year genetic health guarantee.

Early training foundation

Puppy training begins from the very start. Through daily routines and structured exposure, puppies are introduced to basic manners and handling, early socialization, potty training foundations, and kennel (crate) training. This early foundation helps puppies transition more smoothly into their new homes and sets them up for long-term success.

Pricing variations

Our pups all leave on limited registration. Some exceptions apply. Puppies going to pet homes are $1500. For specific pricing details and to discuss full registration options, please reach out to us directly.

If you have any additional questions after reviewing this information, I’m always happy to discuss our program further. Choosing the right breeder is an important decision, and it’s essential that our values and expectations align with yours.
